The Expendable Mobile ASW Training Target (EMATT) is used as a target for Anti-Submarine Warfare training in sea to ASW teams. It is a self-propelled underwater vehicle which can be programmed to execute certain maneuvers according to the selected run geometry. It can be deployed from certain surface and/or aerial platforms. It can be used with active and passive sonars of surface ships including helicopters equipped with dipping sonars. Development and qualification of EMATT system has already been achieved.
